The insanely talented Oliver Hibert is in the process of designing a Major Arcana based on Pamela Colman Smith’s classic Rider-Waite deck. We would buy a set of these in a heartbeat. We would tear out someone’s heart, time out a beat, and smear it all over our mugs while begging, “OLIVER MAKE US SOME CARDS DUDE PLEASE”

Super incredibly maddening thing about mental illness:

Fighting your ass off to live a normal life and function as well as you can, and instead of getting credit and having people be proud of you for all the efforts you’re making, having people use your apparently normal behavior as a reason to invalidate you and think you weren’t that sick to begin with.

It takes a lot of badassery to act this normal, but the effort is all invisible

Less than a college education

image

what the fuck

IT SHOCKS NO ONE THAT AN ISLAND COSTS LESS THAN A COLLEGE EDUCATION IN AMERICA

do you realize you could prpbably make more money off an island than a college education? like, build stuff, sell stuff, make money. you aint even guaranteed a job after you spend like 100k on college.

omg how good of an investment would that be tho

you could have homes built on the island and rent them out

Expand Medicaid Coverage in North Carolina

"In North Carolina, there are 720,000 uninsured adults who would be eligible for Medicaid if the state expanded its Medicaid program.

Providing such coverage will help people gain access to the care they need, which can improve health outcomes.

In addition, the expansion would add about $1.4 billion to North Carolina’s economy and total employment would increase by about 23,000 jobs.

That’s why I signed a petition to The North Carolina State House and Governor Pat McCrory, which says:

'We, the undersigned, urge the North Carolina House and Governor McCrory to consider the positive effects of Medicaid expansion on North Carolina communities, and not follow the North Carolina Senate in its intention to reject billions of health care dollars that are much needed in our state.'

Will you sign this petition? Click here:

Thanks!”

There are 440 signatures right now and they’re only aiming for 500.

[Series of texts by @fatnutritionist, which read: “People are mad at me because they ‘work so hard’ to be fit or lose weight. They have told me this explicitly. It implies that they think my rejecting the values they subscribe to can somehow take away the fitness they’ve worked for. That is totally delusional. If you’ve worked hard for fitness, no amount of fat people rejecting stigma can take that away. So this is obviously not actually about fitness, at all. It’s about the other thing they ‘worked hard’ for: social status. They DO think, and they know, that the social status they have worked hard to earn, through ‘fitness,’ can be devalued. It can be devalued if the hierarchy that rewards them is crushed. Crushed by people rejecting stigma. We can’t take away your fitness or whatever weight you’ve lost. But we can devalue those things by destroying fat stigma. So they are afraid of us, and for good reason. If fat people aren’t stigmatized, then there is no more thin privilege. Remember always, fat people: People are afraid of you because you have an awesome power - to destroy the hierarchy. If they were not afraid of losing their place in the hierarchy, they would not come after you so viciously.” All tweets were accompanied by the hashtag, #notyourgoodfatty]
